Design
We are a large dynamic faculty with a new, purpose built, state of the art Design Centre. We offer GCSE’s in Art, Systems and Control Technology, Food Technology, Graphics Products, Product Design and Textiles Technology. We also offer A Levels in Art, Food Technology, Graphics, Photography, Product Design, Systems and Control and Textiles. (Graphics, Photography and textiles are taught through the Art syllabus at A Level).
Our students regularly achieve GCSE grades well above the national average and produce some exceptional coursework across all the specialism’s. Moderators from the exam boards who visited Beauchamp this year praised the high standards achieved by the students and the creativity of the work produced.
We have run three very successful Arts Weeks involving all our students and we hold many exhibitions to celebrate student achievement. This year we are running a creativity project working closely with a professional designer and producing a sculptural piece involving all students in some way.
A large number of our A Level students are accepted on to the Art Foundation course at De Montfort University, Gateway and Loughborough University School of Art and Design and have also been accepted for direct entry to degree courses such as Brunel, which has a high reputation for Design.
