The Beauchamp ITT Partnership
The Beauchamp ITT Partnership was formed in 2002, and is currently training 16 Graduate Trainees. The GTP provides an employment-based route into teaching where the focus is primarily on classroom practice and the course is led by practising teachers. Trainees achieving QTS have benefited from the practical classroom-based training and have gone on to develop successful careers within the teaching profession.
Beauchamp works closely with other schools to provide trainees with the opportunity to experience different learning environments and increase their understanding of the education system. All schools have significant experience of teacher training. The Partnership is committed to the provision of quality training to graduates wishing to enter the teaching profession. All trainees will have experience within two schools during their training year and may be based in any of our Partner Schools.
Organisation
The GTP and the partnership is overseen by the Partnership Managers and the GTP Administrator who are based at Beauchamp. Each trainee will be allocated a mentor, who is an experienced teacher. Lead Mentors are used to support and advise trainees and mentors. A weekly Professional Development training programme is run throughout the year to raise awareness of key educational issues. All trainees are provided with their own laptop and trainees have full access to school systems. ICT is an essential tool in education and all trainees can access training to ensure that they are able to use it confidently.
